This wasn’t the day I planned.
I had intended to spend a few hours reacquainting myself with an old macro lens and dialing back in some camera settings I hadn’t used in years. Instead, the day filled up — emails, taxes, interruptions, errands — and the “deep dive” turned into about ten stolen minutes.
So I grabbed a nearby houseplant, misted the leaves with water for a little texture, and started shooting.

Even in that short window, I was reminded why I love macro work. The camera stops describing what something is and starts revealing surface, light, and pattern instead.
Not a grand project. Just a small study squeezed into a busy day.
