Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience:  this is the ideal life.

– Mark Twain

It’s been one of those Mondays.  And while any Monday can be rough, it seems that a Monday following a vacation tends to be particularly rough, and today was one of those after-vacation-kind-of-Mondays.

Anxious to wind down after a long day, I enjoyed a long hot shower after dinner, then curled up on the couch with a warm blanket, my snuggly pup and the book I’m reading, A Man called Ove.  Upon opening my book I noticed the title of the next chapter was a ‘A Man Called Ove and a Whiskey’, so I decided to pour myself a glass of whiskey as well… after all, I’m a firm believer in diving 100% into a storyline.

So with a blanket on my lap, dog by my side, a good book in hand & a whiskey on the rocks, I finally felt ready to let my mind relax as I settled in for the night.

That’s when the first line of the next chapter caught my eye:

‘It is difficult to admit one is wrong.  Particularly when one has been wrong for a very long time.”

How’s that for a little food for thought?  Seems my Monday isn’t over yet….
