When snow falls, nature listens. – Antoinette VanKleeff
Focus: Still Life
A winter storm is blowing in this afternoon. When I was out on a run earlier today, I watched the clouds slowly creep over the city, blocking out the sun and blanketing everything in a darkening cloak of anticipation. It felt as if nature were making preparations for the storm right before my eyes. Once the flurries started to fall, I stepped outside with my camera and started looking around my yard for a way to capture this sense of anticipation. What caught my eye were the few leaves left clinging to the branches of bushes and trees. They were almost human in the way they curled up on themselves, as if wrapping their arms around their bodies bracing for the cold.
