At sunrise everything is luminous but not clear. – Norman Maclean
Focus: Still Life (Out of Focus)
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I don’t function all that well in the early morning. It usually takes a good hour for the ‘fog’ to lift and for my brain to function properly. But this morning, Mother Nature put on quite a show and I was compelled to grab my camera and get creative, despite the early hour. You may recall that I captured another beautiful sunrise earlier this year (see January 23rd here). I took the previous photo from my front porch looking east through the neighborhood trees. I didn’t want to repeat the same composition as last time, so I challenged myself to find a new way to capture the glorious morning. My solution was to photograph the sunrise as it reflected in the windows of my house (changing my locale was out of the question – I was still in my slippers and ‘jammies!) Although my style typically leans towards tack sharp photos, I do like how the distortions of the glass and soft focus lend a dreamy quality to these images.
(see January 23rd https://bethpoe.com/2013/01/23/january-23-2013/).
Nice – I like these!
You would – you’re a morning person! :^)
