Today my family tried stand up paddle boarding for the first time. Although we fully expected to spend more time in the water than on top of it, we were pleasantly surprised that none of us fell during our hour-long introduction. Granted, we were paddling across a mountain lake with few waves, and virtually no current. Nevertheless, we all felt pretty good about our success. In fact, I’m sure we’ll try paddle boarding again. Maybe next time we’ll even venture off on a river to put our newly acquired skills to the test…
