Homecoming means football, floats and fun…
FOCUS: Life Unscripted (Digital Art)
Homecoming Week at my son’s high school is full of fun activities. There is a bonfire, pep rally, parade, football game and dance. The parade is one of my favorite events to watch. Each year, the marching band leads the students on a parade from the high school down through the streets of ‘Old Town’. Merchants and residents alike line the road to cheer on the home team, and young kids whoop and holler as they scramble for candy tossed to them from the passing floats. This year’s theme was ‘Under the Big Top’ and the various clubs and teams dressed in circus attire and built floats covered in balloons and brightly colored decorations. Nostalgic events like this are what memories are made of, and I am so grateful that this tradition is carried on year after year.
Traditions at school are so important.. it is these that build character in our young and remind them that in adulthood traditions are all around…
