I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every lush shade imaginable offset by autumnal flashes of red and yellow.” – Wendy Delsol
FOCUS: Nature
Oh, autumn is truly in the air today… the temperatures are crisp, the sky is overcast, and a light rain has been falling all day. It is the perfect day to pull out those sweaters and boots that have been locked away for months, grab an umbrella and go out for a brisk walk. Afterwards, snuggle up under a blanket with a warm cup of tea, and relish in the changing of the seasons.
I didn’t have to go very far to capture the beauty of the day. Truth be told, each of these images was taken right in my own yard. The top image was captured in our backyard fountain that sits under our maple tree. From a technique standpoint, I focused on the surface of the water to capture the reflection of the tree, while blurring out the colorful leaves that had fallen into the water. I think the resulting painterly effect is a wonderful illustration of the weather outside today.
Lovely photos depicting what I want to see.. your Autumn and Winter.. cause then our Summer must be here… we tend to skip Spring…
Thanks, Bulldog. Enjoy your coming warm weather months!
Wonderful pictures.
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous photos capturing fall’s essence
Thanks, Nora! It was a wet one that day – rain on the Front Range, and a dusting of snow in the mountains!
Outstanding Beth. I love your work.
Thanks, Shannon!
This inspires me to look for Fall and to capture it. Simply beautiful.
Thanks, Melanee! I’m so flattered that you find my photography inspiring. Autumn is such a beautiful season, and there are so many beautiful days ahead. Today we headed to the mountains to catch the annual Aspen display, if you’d like you can check out my post here.
