Fall: bright flame before winter’s deadness; harvest; orange, gold, amber; …The leaves as they spark into wild color just before they die are the world’s oldest performance art, and everything we see is celebrating one last violently hued hurrah before the black and white and silence of winter. Fall is begging for us to dance and sing and write with just the same drama and blaze. ~Shauna Niequist

Ladies & Gentlemen, allow me to introduce the Autumn Purple Ash.  Truly, one of the season’s most spectacular performance artists.

    1. Thanks Mike! I did boost the dynamic range in a few of the photos using Nik Software’s Viveza program. It’s a handy little plug-in that let’s you manually adjust the tonality and color of your images. I’m not a big fan of most HDR images because I think the results can look so unrealistic and the effect is often overused. However, when I want to bring out some details in high contrast images, I find that Viveza is very precise and gives me complete creative control over the end result. If you are interested in the software, I’m pretty sure they offer a free trial. Good luck!
