30 Days of Thanks.web

November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.

FOCUS:  30 Days of Thanks

In honor of Thanksgiving Day, which falls on November 28th this year, I will be dedicating the entire month of November to those things for which I am thankful for.  Although I have far more than 30 things to be grateful for, this month I hope to capture a small sampling of those things in my life that bring me love, happiness and joy.  I do not plan to rank my selections in any particular order – after all, can you really quantify gratitude in that way?  Instead, my selections will be completely random and will merely be the product of my sentiments on any particular day.

So, let’s begin….

Today, I find myself grateful for the Month of November.  This is the month when autumn slowly slips away, the days grow noticeably shorter and nature puts itself to sleep.  It is a month dedicated to thankfulness, and is the perfect time for each of us to slow down, turn inward and focus on family, friends, and home.
