“The guardians of high culture will try to convince you that the arts belong only to a chosen few, but they are wrong and they are also annoying.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert

We had a handyman at the house today handling some odds-and-ends jobs for us – moving outlets, replacing fixtures, patching walls, etc.  The gentleman who arrived fit your classic, Hollywood description of a handyman – mid-60’s, pickup truck full of tools, hammer in one hand, measuring tape in another.  Imagine my surprise when he casually mentioned that he studied art in college, and in his spare time he creates large pop art pieces, which he showcases at local galleries.  Who would’ve of thought? Handyman by day, artist by night.

Art is everywhere, and everywhere there are artists.  Don’t judge a book by its cover.
