A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it. – Edward Steichen

FOCUS:  Portrait

I just love the quote above by Edward Steichen.  It is true that the interaction between the photographer and the person being photographed is key to a successful portrait.  It is that interaction that makes me love photographing people so much.  It is hard to describe what it is like for me to look through the eye of my camera and make that intimate connection with the person I am photographing.  It is pure magic – every single time.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Megan.  She is simply beautiful and has these amazingly rich brown eyes.  I absolutely adore these portraits of her – the soft, subtle tones of the overcast day were the perfect backdrop to capture her personality – a delicate mix of sugar and spice.
