May is a pious fraud of the almanac, A ghastly parody of real springShaped out of snow and breathed with eastern wind;– James Russell Lowell
Focus: Still Life
Spring has been delayed, folks. Hopefully, not permanently. Personally, I did not expect that my first two photos of May would look so wintry. Even though I know snow is possible in Denver virtually any month of the year (well, okay, maybe not July or August), it is still a shock to see it in the month of May. I like snow. I really do. I would even go so far as saying I love it. Just not in May.
Snow in October? Sure, why not.
November? Great – time to wax those skis.
December? A holiday wonderland!
January? Perfect for snowmen and hot chocolate
February? Whoohoo, let’s snuggle by the fire 🙂
March? Blizzard season at its best.
April? Getting a little old, but spring snows are expected.
May? Alright, enough already.
Sorry, winter, you’ve arrived too late, and overstayed your welcome. It’s time to go home.
Excellent picture.
Thanks so much!
Great photo. We live on the Virginia coast and have been whining about rain and 60 degree weather. I guess we are having a pretty good May since there isn’t any snow involved 🙂
Yes, be grateful for your weather! Today has turned out to be sunny and in the 50s, so the snow is melting fast – thank goodness.
Can’t believe you got snow again this week.
