I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.-William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
FOCUS: Nature
You don’t have to go far outside of Denver to reach the relative wild of the Rocky Mountain foothills. The area west of Denver is scattered with all sorts of short hikes, which are perfect for those looking to escape into nature for a few hours. Today, I hiked in Apex Open Space Park near the town of Morrison. This area is a perfect place to view the complex natural interface where the arid plains bump up against the great Rocky Mountains.
These photos are absolutely gorgeous! I love the close-ups, especially with the lady-birds. Beautiful.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for stopping by! Your comment led me to check out your blog on books – I look forward to following along!
