Making the decision to have a child – it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

FOCUS:  30 Days of Thanks

On this day nineteen years ago, my daughter was born and my life changed forever in the most wonderful of ways.  Two and half years later, our son was born.  Little did I know back then all that motherhood would entail – the joy, the sorrow, the love, the pride – and how deep and intense each of those emotions would be.  I would not trade the experience of motherhood for anything.  So, today I would like to express my gratitude for being a mother.

“Motherhood is a choice you make everyday, to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what the right thing is…and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for doing everything wrong.”

– Donna Ball

That quote makes me smile, and is a sentiment almost every mother can identify with.  Behind every great kid is a mother who is sure she is doing everything wrong… 🙂
