We are all trapped in a jar, and don’t realize there is a lid.

I found this little fella flying around my house tonight.  He’s an Underwing Moth, who measured about 4 inches across with two spectacular orange and black bottom wings.  It’s interesting how his size and beauty made me feel compelled to catch and release him back into the wild, whereas if he’d been a lowly ol’ Miller Moth I would’ve been more likely to grab the fly swatter.  This conditional form of kindness made me step back and consider how easy it is to judge others based on their looks – whether they be a helpless little insect, or a fellow human being.

Just a little food for thought…
